Carte Blanche à Blanche-Neige, journées du patrimoine MAC/VAL
16 septembre 2007 | 14h -18h
Paris, Rome, Berlin, Moscow, Madrid, Lausanne… The Snow Whites of Catherine Baÿ propagate themselves like a virus. They will be at MAC/VAL, the contemporary museum of Val de Marne for the Journées du Patrimoine and will take possession of this singular space of 13 000 m2.
Like a distorting mirror of our contemporary society, these Snow Whites seem to take over casually our social foibles, making enter the day-to-day in the space of the museum.
We’ll be able to see the Snow Whites as security agents wandering in the central walkways of the museum, as data entry operators slaving away in the conferences rooms, as garage mechanics dismantling some mopeds in the pedagogical workshops, as cookers concocting some « Snow Whites recipes » in the restaurant Le Transversal and at last in the gardens in a mid-garden party…
Being superimposed to these present moments, some screenings, photographs and video installations, shuffling the tracks of a unique temporality, will show us some Snow Whites from the past.
